Well, 2011 is behind us now. It was a damned fine year and I bid it a fond farewell. Yet, I look forward to 2012 as the year to make or break. I have a bucket load of big plans for the year, including two new books, a road trip of epic proportions and a short film… all by year’s end.
I’m an artistic soul, internally as well as externally. I love great photos, great movies, great music, etc. So, to see the year out and take a quick look back, I figured I would share some of my faves from 2011.
Top 10 Movies I enjoyed (in no particular order, really):
- Super 8
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Pt 2
- Thor
- Colombiana
- Captain America
- X-Men — First Class
- Rise of the Planet of the Apes
- Bridesmaids
- Limitless
- Fright Night
And a few guilty-pleasure special mentions:
Top 10 Songs I listened to repeatedly:
- Someone Like You — Adele
- Rolling In the Deep — Adele
- Sexy And I Know It — LFMAO
- Give Me Everything — Pitbull Featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer
- Sail — AWOLNATION — (Oh, and check out Shawna’s & Tessa’s take on this song with inventive video production!)
- The Drumming Song — Florence And The Machine (I think this may be from late 2010, but I played the hell out of it this past year!)
- Firework — Katy Perry
- Little Lion Man — Mumford & Sons
- Howlin’ For You — The Black Keys
- Barton Hollow — The Civil Wars (If you’ve not checked out this band yet… what are you waiting for?)
Top Ten TV Shows (I limit my watching, so forgive me any good misses — pass them on and I’ll check them out!):
- Game Of Thrones (thanks to my buddy Jason for passing this on… it was an awesome first season!)
- NCIS
- How I Met Your Mother
- Castle
- The Glades
- Two Broke Girls
- Whitney
- New Girl
- The Big Bang Theory
- Person Of Interest
So, folks, what did I miss? Anything that you are sitting there thinking, “why the hell did he not mention…?”
Share!
And, a Happy New Year to All!

Robert,
I have not, but I really do want to. I have not seen either version and — sad to admit — have not even read the book(s). More to place on my To Do list for 2012. :)
CL.
I like the list and I’m looking forward to 2012 to be an even better year, hopefully a turn around year in many ways. It seems like the movies are getting better where for awhile most were lacking any substance.
Curious to the list, did you see the “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. I saw the Swedish version but not the American one.
Regards,
Robert
