A Cat Named Easter

Crucify - by Tori Amos

“I got a cat named Easter, he says, ‘Will you never learn? You’re just an empty cage, girl, if you kill the bird.'”

I feel that this is one VERY powerful lyric.

Think about it. How often are we so hard on ourselves that we begin destroying who we really are? Beating ourselves up for things that truly do not matter in the end is a whittling away of our very spirit.

Make today the day that you decide not to ‘kill the bird.’ Take care to eliminate the worry of the little things, the things that do NOT matter in the long run…the things that we will have forgotten about in a short period of time because they are of no real impact to our lives. It may seem big today…but, trust me…it isn’t. Give yourself a pat on the back for realizing this and the more you pick up on it, the more you’ll brush that stuff away.

Remember what Easter says, “Will you never learn?”

Go. Learn things.
